I'm not too hopeful though, because an (intermittent) inability to close MEP has been experienced by others, including me, and no fully reliable solution has been found. Replace that (after the usual precautions) with a slightly older version from your regular backups, or just delete it and allow MEP to replace it with the default on restart. Does it happen in all projects? Have you tried resetting program settings to defaults? Or, after closing MEP, locate your Videodeluxe.ini file (the larger of the two files with that name), probably at something like this locationĬ:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus\Videodeluxe.ini Turning to the persistence issue, I suspect that might possibly be related. If neither includes the MEP process (Videodeluxe.exe) then we'll have to dig deeper. The more comprehensive list under Task Manager > Start-up. First thing to eliminate is whether MEP 2013 has perhaps somehow been set to start on running Windows?
